SERVING OPPORTUNITIES

When it comes to opportunities to make a difference...there are plenty!  We organize our serving opportunities into two categories: inside the church and outside the church.

Inside The Church Walls: Serving inside the church involves volunteering with one of our many ministry departments or events.  Here are just a few of the ministry departments that you could be involved with.  For info on how to get involved, click on the link and you will be directed via e-mail to the person that leads that ministry department or event.

  • First Steps
  • Kids Matter
  • IGN!TION
  • SH!FT
  • GCCN3 Growth Group Leader or Asst. Leader
  • GCCN3 Usher/Greeter
  • GCCN3 Coffee Team
  • GCCN3 Worship Team
  • GCCN3 Band
  • GCCN3 Tech Team

Outside the Church Walls: Jesus never meant for the church to be a building! He taught us that the church was a living, breathing body that should be active about His agenda! Jesus’ final command was to “GO”, and we take that command seriously.  There are lots of opportunities to get involved and serve outside the walls of the church.  Probably our most prevalent opportunity is Second Saturday.  You can see the number of volunteer hours that have been logged so far this year on the previous page!

SECOND SATURDAY:

Q. When do I show up and for how long?

A. We will meet in the Food Court at GCCN at 8:30 a.m. for a brief overview of the day and explanation of the projects.  Then we will depart to our project locations to serve.

A. We will serve from around 9:00 to 11:30.  If you drive to the project location you may leave from there. Others will then head back to the church and you will be done at noon.

Q. What do I need to bring?
A. Nothing.  Everything you will need to do your project will be provided.  All you need to bring is yourself. There are no special skills required, just show up and serve.  Also, you can bring your family along and serve together!

Q. Where do we serve?
A. Here is a list of some of the locations that we have served over this past year.  We are always open to new opportunities, so if up have any idea’s or are aware of any community needs, let us know!

You can click on the links below to learn more about each organization.

OTHER OPPORTUNITIES: There are lots of other opportunities to serve outside the walls of the church.  Here are a few other events that provide you with an opportunity to serve:

  • Acts in Grove City – This is a one-day event where all churches in Grove City blitz the community with community service.  Projects include, light construction projects on homes in the community, yard work, community clean-up, car washes and much more.  This event usually occurs in June.
  • Single Parent Fun Day – This is another one-day event designed to assist single parents in acquiring school supplies and other helpful needs as they prepare to send their kids back to school.  This past August there were nearly 900 that received school supplies, haircuts, shoes, motorcycle rides, pony rides, and lots of other fun and helpful services provided.  This event usually occurs in August.
